Employment Policy
The Clerk of Court’s Office accepts applications for open positions only. Human Resources will keep applications on file for six months from the date originally submitted. After six months, you must submit a new application to account for changes and/or updates. It is your responsibility to notify the Human Resources Office if you wish your application to be considered for an open position. You must meet minimum qualifications to be considered for open positions. Individuals whose qualifications and experience best meet the needs of the Clerk’s Office will be invited for an interview.

Pre-Employment Medical Examination and Back Ground Investigation
Each person selected by a department to fill a position must undergo a drug screening exam and back ground investigation prior to employment. Offer’s of employment are contingent upon successful completion of drug screening exam and background investigation.
Introductory Period
All new hires filling a regular full-time position must successful complete an introductory period of six months. Successful completion of the Introductory Period does not affect the “at will” nature of employment, or create an expectation of continued employment. The Clerk reserves the right at any time to terminate employment with or without cause.
Employment Benefits
The following explanation of benefits applies to all regular full-time positions.
Personal Time
All employees in a regular 40 hour position earn the following P/T hours.
Note: Personal Time can not be taken until an employee has satisfactory completed their introductory period.
- 0-3 years earn .0769 per hour = 3.076 week or 20 days
- 4-7 years earn .0746 per hour = 3.384 week or 22 days
- 7 years + earn .1077 per hour = 4.308 week or 28 days
Holidays
The Clerk of Circuit Courts Office offers eleven paid holidays plus two floating holidays each year. Floating holidays are subject to satisfactory completion of introductory period.
Health Plan
All regular full-time employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision and Basic Life Insurance of $15,000 effective the 1st of the month following 30 days of consecutive employment.
Retirement
All regular full-time employees are enrolled in the Florida Retirement System. All members of the FRS have a choice to participate in either the FRS Pension Plan or FRS Investment Plan.
Tax Deferred Benefits
All regular full-time employees can elect to participate in a supplemental Retirement Account (457G Plan), Section 125 Flexible Spending Account for medical care and dependent care, and AFLAC Cancer and Accident Plan.
Other Benefits
All regular full-time employees can elect to participate in AFLAC Short Term Disability. In addition supplemental additional life either through AFLAC or Standard Life can be elected. Tuition reimbursement is offered to all permanent employees who have completed one year of employment.
Salary
Employees are paid weekly and are eligible for direct deposit. Employees are eligible for salary increases within their appropriate pay grade range based on their job performance. Consideration for such merit increases is normally at intervals of one year. Cost of living adjustments are at the discretion of the Clerk of Courts and are normally given at the beginning of the Fiscal Year.
